DAAD Prize for Ximena Aberastury Gottschau

15.10.2024

International students enrich Karlshochschule on both a cultural and academic level. For this reason, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards an annual prize for outstanding international students. This year, Ximena Aberastury Gottschau (International Relations) was awarded the prize. Ximena is originally from Argentina and receives the DAAD Prize 2024, presented by our President Prof. Dr. Robert Lepenies.

Prof. Dr. Anthony Teitler, who made the nomination, emphasizes the importance of Ximena’s commitment:

“Ximena is a very erudite, hardworking and intellectually gifted student. She has taken four modules with me and has excelled in each one. She demonstrates great breadth and depth in her studies.
Ximena is not only very willing to learn, but also very cooperative and supportive of her fellow students. This was evident in class, for example, when she even switched into lecturer mode during interactions between students and explained something to another student who was struggling with the material. She is also involved in a number of student initiatives that have a clear social impact.
Ximena is a very friendly, conscientious, open-minded and cooperative person. The university has benefited from her generosity and warm character. ”

The DAAD Prize (€ 1,000) is awarded during the introductory week in September at Karlshochschule, this year at the annual plenary session on 15.10.2024.
